This year, we’re proud to dedicate all of the donations to the Alameda County Community Food Bank, an incredible organization that has been fighting hunger in our communities since 1985. Serving over 1 in 4 residents of Alameda County, the food bank distributes millions of pounds of fresh food each year through a network of more than 400 partner agencies and schools. Every dollar raised through this tournament will help provide up to two healthy meals for people in need. Your participation helps make this tournament both fun and meaningful, and we truly appreciate your support!

This is will be SFPYA’s 4th Annual Charity Badminton Tournament! All the money from this tournament will be donated to a project in Gansu in collaboration with the Beijing SmileAngel Children’s Hospital. They provide medical treatment to kids in rural China and they focus on fixing cleft palates. This tournament is open to all skill levels. This will be a great opportunity to have fun, meet new friends, and support children in rural China.

In 2023, we at SFYPA, a youth-led charity organization, proudly hosted a Peace Salon to bring together young leaders during a time of global reflection. With participants from the Chinese Students and Scholars Association, the Association of Chinese Students and Scholars at Stanford, and dedicated volunteers from across the Bay Area, the event created a space for meaningful dialogue on peace, friendship, and the future of U.S.-China relations. Held around the time of the APEC Summit, our salon focused on embracing a new era of peace and cooperation. Through open conversation and shared values, we reaffirmed our belief that young people play a vital role in building mutual understanding across cultures. This event was a step forward in our mission to inspire unity, compassion, and lasting connections between communities.

In 2023, we proudly hosted our 3rd Annual Badminton Charity Tournament. In response to the continued rising safety concerns in Oakland Chinatown, all proceeds from the event were donated to the Oakland Chinatown Blue Angels, a volunteer group dedicated to protecting and uplifting the community during these challenging times. The tournament welcomed players of all skill levels, offering a fun and engaging way to support a meaningful cause through the game of badminton.
